English. Carlow. May 7th

Hey you!!! How are you doing?
No classess today but I leave you a poem that expresses my feelings in a perfect way!

I can’t teach you from school.
But I can teach you by the pool.
I can teach you from the street
Or even now on Google Meet.

I can teach you with no shoes
And with my dog now if I choose.
I can teach you at a desk,
And when my hair is all a mess!

I can teach you from my yard,
Because teaching YOU is not what’s hard.
It’s the time away that’s tough.
Did I say “I love you” enough?

Do you know how much I care?
And that I’ll be here even though you ‘re there.
I do like my job, it is true,

But what I really miss is you!!

See you tomorrow!!

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
Bear hugs!

Miss Marcela.

Hi everyone!!

Today we are going to work on the reading: "The Young Healer". Look at these pictures, what do you think the reading is going to be about? Where are these people? What are they doing? How are they feeling?

Now go to page 101 and 102 in your Compass and read the story:
AUDIO "The young healer"

Now copy the following questions on your folder and answer them:
1) What does Maryam want to be in the future? Why?
2) What does she want to do?
3) Who was her first patient? What happened to the doll?
4) What does the boy want to be?
5) What does the nurse think about the boy?
6) What does the other boy, Tarek, want to be after the war?

Now go to page 102, read the story again and match the words with the characters, do it on the book:

English. Carlow. May 5th.

As I mentioned during the class, write on your folders the theory we discussed today.

THE FUTURE: WILL or WON'T

We use WILL in four different situations:

1) Predictions based on what we think
2) On the spot decisions
3) Promises
4) Offers

Use 1: PREDICTIONS BASED ON WHAT YOU THINK
Examples: I think he will be an excellent football player
He believes he will be a great doctor
I’m sure you will have a great time!

Usefull expressions: I believe, I think, I’m sure, I understand…

Use 2: ON THE SPOT DECISIONS
It refers to decisions that we take at the moment of speaking.
Examples:       Oh, I ran out of milk! I will go to the supermarket
                        I’m tired, I’ll take a nap
She has a headache, she will take an aspirin.

Use 3: PROMISES
Examples:       I will love you forever
I will always be your friend
                        I will never drink coffee
Useful words: always, never

Use 4: OFFERS
Examples:       I will help you with your assignment
Peter: Oh! It is very hot in here!
John: I will open the window

Once you finish, go to your Liveworksheets account, there is a new exercise there for you!

Here you have the answers of exercise 3:

1- diversity- diverse  2- ethnicity- ethnic   3- scarcity- scarce
Thank you!!!
See you tomorrow!
Big bear hugs for you all!!
Miss Marcela.

DRAMA - 6TH FORM - MAY 5TH

Hi kids!

   Hope you are ok! 😃

Here is Mister “A.C”, your Drama teacher.

Today we are going to learn about… IMAGINATION.

Imagination is the ability to create pictures and situations in your mind. Using our imagination we can have new and exciting ideas.

LET´S WATCH!

Watch the following story. It´s called: “THE BOY WHO FINALLY LISTENED”. It´s about a boy who is so busy racing around and doing a million things, that he stops listening and discovers that his ears have simply disappeared.

After watching the video answer:

Which is your favourite story? Think about all the books you have ever read.
To answer, leave a comment here, on this post on the blog.

In my case, one of my favourite stories is “Harry Potter”. I read some of the books and I also saw the movies.

Tell me yours!

Greetings,
Mr. “A.C”

Hello again!!!

As part of today's class, I will ask you to write on your folders the following information (include everything up to the double line): Remember that we start with a new topic so if it is possible write on a new sheet of paper.

Topic 6: What challenges do humans face?
We discuss the different challenges that affect the world today, for example:
  • Access to education
  • Air pollution
  • Wars
  • Refugees
  • Access to clean water
  • Intolerance of diversity
  • CORONAVIRUS!!!
  • Etc...

Useful vocabulary:
Ethnicity: the fact of belonging to a social group that has a common cultural tradition.
Refugee: a person who leaves home to find a safer place in a foreign country because of political trouble, war, etc.
Scarcity: a situation in which something is not easy to find or get. (food, water, etc.)
Civil war: a war between political groups or regions within the same country
Health care: the provision of medical care to individuals or a community.

Convention on the Rights of the Child
It is a treaty signed by most countries in the world on September 20, 1989. It establishes the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children.
In Argentina, this convention was ratified in 1990 and included in our National Constitution in 1994.

---------------------------------------

After you wrote all of the above, go to your Liveworksheet account and complete the new exercise. When you finish, come back to your folder and write some of the rights included in the Convention.

Don´t forget to exercises 2 and 3  on page 98 from the compass.
That's all!!!
See you tomorrow!!

Greetings,

 Mister “A.C”.

English. Carlow. April 21st

Hello children!!
Today we will start writing!! Don’t worry, we will guide you…
First of all, take a look at this video, where you will find the main guidelines:

Take a look at the pictures below. They describe a scene at a park.
Write a sequence of events describing the scene.
Before you start writing follow these tips:

● Look at all the pictures and get an idea of the whole story before you begin.
● Write key words and notes to answer three questions: WHERE? WHO? WHAT?
● Use the past tense for the story events
● Try to link your ideas together with words such as SO, AND, BECAUSE, BUT

The word limit is 35 to 55 (no less than 35, no more than 55).

Here some extra help for you, words or phrases that you can use if you need them:
❏ get everything ready
❏ pack
❏ picnic/ picnic basket
❏ lay a tablecloth on the grass
❏ relaxing

Last, but not least, follow this link and download the Word document we prepared for you:
WORD DOCUMENT
You can write your production there, save it on your computer and send it to me by mail:
multimediasbp6@gmail.com

You can write to me if you have doubts or questions!!!
Enjoy your homework and see you soon!!
Miss Marce
